Wow, a lot has been happening down here in SoCal. This weekend we went to Balboa park which was pretty fun. It was really fun but all the museums were air conditioned which saved me, whew. We went into an Andy Warhal museum, an aerospace museum, and a natural history museum with DINOSAURS RAWR!.... anyways.... Ive been really busy working on a practice movie presentation which GQ, Sid and I were making. Its a 30 second clip of the captain planet theme which turned out pretty well for our time constraints.. a day. Yesterday we went to petco park and got a tour of their press and media facility. It was really fun, they took us into the live TV recording studio, the press box, and the control center. They let us simulate running a game with 25k$ cameras, stadium audio systems, and essentially go through the motions of filming a live baseball game. As for today we've been preping to make our final project video which i think will be really cool. As soon as im able ill upload our miniclip of captain planet so you can see what ive been doing. PEACE OUT

(^^My photoshopped immages ^^)
Well, i havent blogged in a while, we've been doing a lot of stuff ranging from a ropes course that really wasnt a ropes course at all and ended up being a complete waste of money, to a cool dance party in the bottom floor common room. Weekends are so much more fun than the week days because it's pretty much just sleeping and hanging out! We finall have freedom to roam around campus so long as we are with a buddy, and we ate in the price center which was a nice change from the cafe we eat in every day. Today we had a discovery lecture given by a bioengineer. He told us mostly about the current research on diabetes which was a cool topic but he wanst a very good presenter so a lot of people ended up falling asleep. Some other things we have done was go to to the beach which was sooooo much fun. The cool (not freezing) water was a great change to the constant humid hot-ness that we've been living in for the past week and a half. We also got to go see a sunset and that was beautiful to say the least (respond if you want me to send you a picture with my camera phone). Academically, we've been learning more about programing and ive become quite the professional at photoshop and im learning to use premiere pro. Well, that's all for now, ill try to write in the more often.

Hey, day four is about to be comming to a close. Last night was just a relaxing night of sitting around reading and playing cards. This morning i got up at 6:30 and decided to go out for a run. With all the "healthy" dorm-food ive been eating i thought it'd be a good way to get some more exercise. We had a discovery lecture this morning with the physics professor where he discussed dark matter and dark energy along with other astronomical theory. I found it really interesting but let me tell you where the real fun came in today. We got to have an hour long lecture on the common grammar mistakes that we had on our applications! Let me tell you, nothing clearifies the art of Media Computing like a running through things i wrote months ago witha fine tooth comb. Eh actually it wasnt that bad, learned some things about grammar, but i think what really buggs me is the fact that this is alluding to the actual grammar book i have to read for my AP english summer assignment... Anyways, after lunch we came back and got to further our conversation about "information" in a more philosophical context. It's been really fun. Okay im sick of writing... adios.

Well the arival was not bad at all. Everyone was very welcoming, the staff, the RA's (room advisors) and the other COSMOS students. I have found that my cluster has really bonded more quickly than the other ones and our group is just so chill it's really easy for everyone to just be themselves, have fun, and worry less about impressions. I feel very comfortable with eveyone im with and feel ive made a lot of friends. Ive had a lot of gream times just hanging out with our newly renamed cluster, "TEAM EXTREME!" (we're the best cluster). The arrival day was strictly orientation and "breaking down the walls/ice-breaker" types of events, which was a bit of a drain and kinda boring but for the most part was an inevitable event. After the obligatory name games and get to know you events, i got some time to chill with the others in Team Extreme, and get to know everyone the real way it happens talking and interacting by choice, rather than having to approach somoene and play 20 questions as to what random word had been taped to my back by the gracious RA.
We've been playing a lot of games like capture the flag, football, and ultimate frisbee which has been a lot of fun. Although, with the humidity sweat has been more than flowing from my teenage pores and i find i might be doing my laundry sooner than i had planned and i anticipate ill be buying more deoderant fairly soon.
The course is amazingly just what i had hoped it would be and more. Aside from a rather painstaking grammar lesson from our teacher fellow after she read our "grammatically insuficient" applications and theses we had an awesome conversation about quantom mechanics, perspective, conscienceness etc. Im really enjoying the class and i think im going to take a lot from it. We were given some cameras (they're kinda crappy) so im using my own that i brough which turns out to be quite an advantage. There so much to talk about but im done for now. PEACE
